Botox makes Difficult to Express Emotions

Botox injections are usually known to be able to get rid of lines and wrinkles appeared to have side effects. People who receive these injections may have problems in social relationships. That's because the person becomes unable to express emotions in others.

According to a new study at the University of Southern California (USC) and Duke University, women who received Botox injections are less able to express his face.

The study was conducted to test the evidence that when people often imitate the facial expressions of others to indicate an emotional state such as fear, anxiety, or happiness. People who have been using botox proven unable to reproduce these expressions because some parts of their faces unable to move.

The researchers also compared the users who use the drug Botox to antikeriput, Restylane. They found users of Restylane can express facial expressions of people with an accuracy of 77 percent, while those who undergo Botox treatment is only able to interpret the emotions of 70 percent.

As quoted from Fox News, on Wednesday (27 / 4), professor of psychology David T Neal from USC, describes this research suggest a link between mind and body in two directions. Although the study focuses on the power of mind over body, the Neal stated this study indicate that the body provides feedback that helps us navigate the social world.
